I love the Chevron pattern that is popping up everywhere nowadays...do I love it because I am seeing more and more of it and it's growing on me or do I love it because it's just that cute? I think both, really... I wish I could afford a chevron rug right now...but it's not in the cards for a while--plus it's a bold pattern and you need just the right place for it---which I'm not sure I have as of yet. So I'm introducing it small scale.
I bought about 6 of these trays from Swoozie's when they were having their annual tent sale last year. They had them in green and yellow and I figured I could tie them into my wedding somewhere. They were only $3 each. I ended up never using them...typical.
So now I decided that my empty coffee table in my formal living room would benefit very much from a cute little tray.
Here's what I did:
Yea...I totally just free handed this...I'm sure a stencil or measuring would have looked a lot better but it's fine for my purposes....
I then spray painted it with high gloss white paint:
It's pretty messy...I'm just gonna serve drinks and whatnot on it though....so it should be just fine!!
***I just saw on Tatertots & Jello that she posted a chevron printable stencil....I'll have to use that on the next one!***
Also, Thank you to Stephanie Lynn for featuring my dining room on her post today at Under the Table and Dreaming :)

That looks awesome!
I think it looks great. I like the imperfection of it. The yellow really pops and looks great in your room!

I can't believe you freehanded that -- it looks awesome! Adorable serving tray and brings a cute pop of color into the room. Fun!
Thanks, also, for directing Cassidy over my way for help on my camera dilemma. You guys are wonderful! :)
i was JUST thinking about doing something like this today! who doesn't love a good dose of chevron. now if i was just crafty enough to make my own rugs...
Awesome! I have the exact same tray (from the sale as well) and you have opened up all sorts of possiblities in my mind. Thanks for the idea!
