The Man Room

I am not sure why I'm even doing a post on this...Wendi, please forgive me...the following content may be a little offensive and damaging to the eyes...

Yep. We now have a Man Room in the Casa De Shola. I guess it's the least I could do---clearly the rest of the house is my area and my hubby never cares what I do as far as decorating goes. We have lived in our house now just shy of two years and the Man Room just now has been completed. Ryan didn't want any help with his room, he wanted to do all the decorating himself. Then almost two years passed and I asked if he'd like my assistance now. He accepted and was happy with the outcome!

I wish I had before pics but, just imagine a room with tons of boxes on the floor...my incredibly organized SIL couldn't even enter that room when she helped me clean out my office! Sorry Jenn :( You shared a bathroom with him growing up, so you know what I'm dealing with here...

Yes. A Deer Head is on my wall. In my house.

Nola Shola felt right at home in the Man Room...she doesn't know she's a girl...

And Harvey is NOT sure about the deer head...

Yep, my thoughts exactly, Harvey. What the HECK!!!!!!!!!!!
He's thinking: "Mom, I thought you had standards to uphold in this house...how did this happen?!"

And there you have it. Take from it what you will.

Lori's Baby Shower! and my new bracelet

Lori's baby shower was ABSOLUTELY gorgeous. The weather cleared up just in time and my house has never seen so many guests at once! I think everyone had a wonderful time and Lori scored a bunch of swag for the little girl we are all anxiously awaiting! Take a look:

Southern Roots Mantel

If you walk into my house---it's no secret that I am down with my Southern Roots! I'm a big fan of the South and I really dig Georgia. Some people think that all of us down here are illiterate hillbillies with missing teeth and if you entered the new addition in my house, "the man room," you wouldn't be far off...however, I prefer to think of ourselves as sweet tea drinking, "bless your heart," cowboy boot wearing, refined citizens...

Ok whatever, here is my new mantel---staying true to my roots...I like it...it's less "stuff" than normal for me...

The little owl I bought at Home Goods---still my fav place eva!! The little white birds were on our tables for our wedding---bought at a little home shop in Madison, GA. The maps were both purchased on Etsy! Support your local artists!!!

Our New Little Foyer

Some of you may have seen our mudroom that we completed last year...

I still love this little area---but---it's in the back of the house, right outside our laundry room...so if we actually parked in our garage and walked through the laundry room, this area would serve it's purpose well. In reality, we rarely park inside the garage...so we normally come in through the front door. We need a little "catch-all" space for our entry...so I came up with this:

I put a pic of Ryan with all of his groomsmen above his hook and a pic of me with all of my bridesmaids above my hook---it's a sweet little reminder everyday when I get home of all of our great friends :)

A New Chair for the New Year

So we used to have a chaise lounge in our master bedroom---however---after leaving some moss on my chair in my living room (I was making a Moss Letter) the cat (no longer referred to as Nola--just the cat) mistook the white linen chair for her litter box. The chair got tossed and the chaise got moved downstairs...I needed a chair for the blank space in our master and finally came across one at Home Goods! I had pinned a few before I found this beauty but the price tags were ridic...

$349 + $50 for shipping at Urban Outfitters...seemed a little small too

This beauty is West Elm...$599 + $50 shipping...yikes.

Good ol' Home Goods pulled through yet again! I found the perfect chair and it was a steal at $279. I love our new chair---now on the hunt for the perfect ottoman!
